A Constructive Seminar on the Administration of Teaching in English

A seminar on the administration of teaching in English held on last Saturday has inspired active response among faculty representatives from different schools and colleges.
Chaired by Professor Tang Shuze, Dean of the International School, the conference started with an address from the invited guest, Professor Zhang Ronghua, Director of Academic Registry. Professor Zhang acknowledged the high-quality services the IS had provided for teachers in the whole university who lecture in English. He highlighted the importance of training on teaching skills and models in terms of education quality control, and reaffirmed the demonstration effects of a recent workshop series organized by IS.
Professor Deng Yongzhong, Vice Dean of IS, presented a report on the progress IS had achieved on teaching and academic affaris in the first semester. He indicated key objectives of the year and also pointed out difficulties in the process, which called for more concerted efforts.
Professor Zhang Senwen, coordinator of Teachers’ Club for Lecturing in English, reviewed the club activities and gave his thoughts on teaching quality improvement.
During the sencond section of the seminar, faculty members were enthusiastically sharing opinion and suggestion on various issues in concern. The heated discussion produced a lot constructive ideas and indicated a clear direction for future endeavor.
